Patient Testimonials
Janet
M ~
My name is Janet, and I'm 34 years old. Four years ago my husband
and I decided we wanted to start trying to have a baby. I always
had irregular cycles, so I already discussed with my doctor that
once we were ready we were going to start fertility treatments.
They prescribed Clomid for me and I took it for four months. I didn't
respond well to it at all, then they began Gonal F injections which
I did for 6 or 7cycles. I responded better, but never got pregnant.
So that was a year of trying, and I thought it was a lot of medicine
and maybe my body needed a break. I took about three months off,
then tried again, and went into my doctor for the usual round of
blood tests to check my hormone levels, etc. to begin the process
again. Much to everyone's surprise, I was pregnant! Needless to
say we were very happy. Then at about 9-10 weeks I miscarried. Then
after 31/2 months I again called the doctor and again went back
for blood tests and found out once again I was pregnant. Unfortunately,
it again ended in miscarriage at about 6 weeks. So we stopped again
for four months, and I started to think this just wasn't the way
to go. I hadn't had a period since the miscarriage months earlier,
so my doctor put me on progesterone to start the period. I had had
this treatment many years earlier and it had worked before, so I
went ahead. But this time, I developed a huge cyst. So I said that's
it, this is definitely not the way to go, and I began looking into
some alternative treatments.
I heard
about Claudia's acupuncture specializing in infertility, called
her and had a nice conversation over the phone, came in to meet
her, decided right away I wanted to do acupuncture. She said she
knew exactly what to do with me, and said I don't think it will
be easy, but I think we can do it. So I went in for regular treatments,
and after just three months I found out I was pregnant. My concerns
were keeping the pregnancy. Fortunately, now we have Rachel, who
just celebrated her first birthday!
NOTE:
Janet returned 6 months after Rachel's joyous birth and after 5
months of working with her, she's blessed now with her second Wellness
Within baby!

I'm 36 years old, and I tried getting pregnant for three years before
finally going to IVF. I took Clomid and also did IUI's and neither
were successful. So I came to Claudia several months before my IVF,
and she worked with me to get my body ready so the IVF could be
successful. After I did IVF I worked with Claudia the entire time
I was pregnant to maintain the pregnancy. I had really bad back
problems toward the end of pregnancy. I walked a lot with my job,
and became very sore. Claudia did several treatments with me and
my back felt as good as new. So I had a really good experience,
and this is five month old baby Zachary! I'm really pleased with
the care I got from Claudia. So we're trying to get pregnant again,
and I'll be coming in at least three months before then so she can
get my body ready for IVF. So I'm hoping the next IVF will be successful
too, and I'll be working with her throughout the entire pregnancy.
Cherie ~
My name is Cherie and I'm 42. This is Camden, he is 5 weeks old,
and I came to see Claudia Wolfe about one year ago.
I had had a miscarriage, then a healthy baby, then two miscarriages
in a row. The first three pregnancies had all happened fairly easily,
and the last one took ten months, so I was concerned with the number
of miscarriages, and with the fact that it had taken so long on
the last attempt. So Dr. Wolfe treated me with acupuncture and herbs,
and my husband also took some supplements, and this guy was the
result!
I came here (Wellness Within) on referral from a fertility specialist
I had consulted after a third miscarriage. My OBGYN began to suspect
there was an underlying problem, and that miscarriage was my norm,
and a healthy baby was the anomaly, and yet I had been pregnant
a number of times, so acupuncture was recommended to me.
I was really glad to be trying something that was non invasive,
and that works with your body to help it do what it already knows
how to do! I was not really seeing myself as being able to go through
an invasive fertility process and I was looking to avoid that. I
was given a lot of hope that my body could do it with a little time
and support, and that gave me a lot of encouragement, even to keep
trying on my own, without seeking high tech treatments to make it
happen.

My husband and I have been trying to have kids for almost nine years
now, and I'm going to be 40 in two weeks.
After two years with no success we went to my gynecologist and found
out I had moderate to severe endometriosis, went into surgery right
after that diagnosis, and right after that we started IUI's. We
went through a series of those, accomplished two pregnancies that
ended in miscarriage, then a third pregnancy that I now have a three
and a half year old from! It was a very difficult pregnancy, I was
on bed-rest for the entire nine months. Delivery was difficult,
and I delivered a five pound baby that I carried to term, so it
was a struggle every step of the way.
After that, we waited one year, then tried again, went to an acupuncturist
who didn't specialize in fertility, and although it didn't get us
pregnant, I never felt healthier in my life after seeing him. Then
we went back to the gynecologist, found out the endometriosis was
back, went into laparoscopic surgery once again, then went through
twelve months of IUI every month, which was physically and mentally
draining. My health was deteriorating after all the drugs. I got
pregnant three times, and all ended in miscarriage. After that we
took a break and went to a homeopath, then I came to see Claudia
Wolfe, and after I think two months of visits ended up with a very
healthy pregnancy, no bed-rest, no complications whatsoever, and
this beautiful, healthy little girl! I think it would have helped
me to do acupuncture simultaneously with IUI's. I think because
of the medications given for IUI you need to stay healthy, the drugs
really take a toll on your body, and acupuncture can help keep you
in sync. A lot of IVF and IUI pregnancies are difficult pregnancies.
Donna ~
I'm 39 years old tomorrow, and I have been going through infertility
treatments with my OBGYN and infertility specialist for four years
or so. I have undergone many different infertility treatments with
drugs along the way. I've been pregnant three times prior to having
any infertility treatments, then after infertility treatments I
still had no success getting pregnant.
One day I was in the waiting room at the doctor's office, I had
met a woman who was six months pregnant and leaned over to her asnd
asked her what her secret was, and she leaned back over tome and
said, Claudia Wolfe! After seeing Claudia for six months I have
finally now become pregnant. I'm very excited, and we're crossing
our fingers and ing e erything we can to make sure this one can
be sustained and we'll go from there. I'm excited about the acupuncture
treatments to come, as well as the treatments I've already had from
Claudia's office.
Evelyn ~
I've just turned 33, and we had been trying to get pregnant since
November 2001 (three years). We tried everything: charting, taking
temperatures, you name it. My doctors told me everything was fine,
you don't have any problems, just try to relax. There was really
nothing they could do for me, except for medicated in vitro with
all those drugs. So I looked up Claudia, and when I first called
her I asked what do you specialize in? She said fertility, and I
thought, there's where I need to go. I began seeing her in April
this year, and within 1 ½ months I was pregnant. That was
the first time ever, and it was really shocking. I thought she did
something to change the chemistry so I was able to get pregnant!
However, it didn't stick, and we continued to do acupuncture, but
she also referred me to Dr. Alan Beer here in Los Gatos, and he
did further immune testing, actually she clued me in that it was
an immune problem, he confirmed it.
Usually it takes a long time, 1-1/2 years once you see Dr. Beer
to get pregnant, but I got pregnant again in two months, so I continued
to see Claudia and things have been pretty good. I've had some elevated
NK cell counts, but nothing that acupuncture couldn't address. So
I know I'm not out of the woods until the baby is born, but things
are looking really good!
NOTE:
Evelyn now has a lovely baby boy.
Aster ~
I'm 35 years old, and I've had 7 IVF procedures, 6 have failed,
and I'm on my 7th IVF now and two months pregnant, and I would not
be here today if it weren't for Claudia Wolfe and her acupuncture,
and the immunology of Dr. Beer and my infertility doctor, Dr. Zouves.
We tried for five years, with the first infertility doctor we had
four failed cycles, and then I was told after the fourth one that
I had less than a 10% chance of ever conceiving. My husband and
I just wouldn't give up, and we got a second opinion, from Dr. Zouves.
The fifth IVF with Dr. Zouves I did have a positive pregnancy test,
but it didn't last because there was an embryo quality issue. The
sixth time it didn't work because I have a very high immune system,
but I think we have the right recipe now with this seventh one.
It was a frozen embryo transfer, which we also believe the immunology
and acupuncture will keep it going.
I have done IVIG with prior cycles, and the acupuncture did help
with those side affects, I would have headaches, shakiness, weakness,
no energy, and acupuncture (and herbs) did help to get my energy
back. Another side affect with IVF was migraines I would get from
the progesterone injections, and Claudia's magic rid me of those
migraines.
I would strongly recommend that anyone with fertility problems go
see an acupuncturist, one that specializes in infertility like Claudia
Wolfe. I feel very sad for all those infertility doctors who didn't
even consider working with my immunology or even with an acupuncturist.
So now, it seems like four years I wasted doing IVF procedures.
I think acupuncture, herbs, proper diet really helped me, and I
wouldn't be her today with my two month pregnancy without Claudia's
help.
NOTE: Aster has since given birth to a precious little girl.
